NEW BETA STUDY FINDS THAT OXYGEN IS A FAVORITE WITH WOMEN 18-34 ------ Among Mid-Sized Networks, Women 18-34 Rank Oxygen: #1 as a Favorite Network #1 (tie) on Average Perceived Value ------ NEW YORK, N.Y., December 7, 2004 -- Oxygen, the cable television network for young women, is continuing to make strides with its younger audience, the desirable demographic of women 18-34. The 2004 Beta Research Cable Subscriber Study-Evaluation of Basic Cable Networks released today found that when compared to other mid-sized networks, women 18-34 rank Oxygen #1 as one of their top five favorite channels (unaided), and #1 (tie) on average perceived value - assigning the network a worth of $0.56 if sold on its own. The study also found Oxygen, as compared to other mid-sized networks, is: • #1 as a favorite of women 18-49. • #2 (tie) on average perceived value among upscale adults with a household income of $100,000+. • #2 (tie) on average perceived value among Comcast subscribers. • Among Oxygen’s viewers, the network’s average perceived value is $1.58 with women 18+, $1.59 with women 18-34, and $1.78 with women 18-49. “We always knew that young women were underserved on television. We want to be their home base,” said Lisa Hall, President and COO of Oxygen. “We spent the last five plus years talking to young women -- getting to know what they like, what they think about, what excites them. We’ve been working hard to get to know our audience better – it’s nice to see it’s working.” About Oxygen Media
