MetroPCS the First to Offer Flat-Rate Wireless Service In the Florida Keys

$40 Per Month For Unlimited Local and Long Distance Calls

KEY WEST (September 27, 2004) - MetroPCS, a wireless service provider offering unlimited, anytime local and long distance calls with no contract, today launched its service in the Florida Keys – expanding its coverage in the South Florida area. The service is available immediately to wireless customers along the Florida Keys.

MetroPCS is the only wireless carrier in the Florida Keys to offer a flat rate service with no contract that allows consumers to pay by the month rather than by the minute. MetroPCS customers can choose an unlimited, anytime local calling plan for $35 a month, or an unlimited, anytime local and long distance calling plan for $40 a month. Customers who sign up will receive the first month free with their purchase of a MetroPCS phone. Customers will also receive a $20 coupon for additional accessories. “Our flat-rate, unlimited calling plan gives consumers the ability to speak freely – without worrying about counting minutes or being tied to long-term contracts,” said Frank Bell, general manager of MetroPCS’ Florida operations. “We have received a strong response from customers since we first entered southern Florida and expanded to the west coast. Offering service to customers in the Florida Keys was a natural extension of our network and in step with our growth plans.”

Customers can sign up for service at seven MetroPCS authorized dealers throughout the Florida Keys where they will be able to select from a variety of the hottest wireless phones on the market. MetroPCS first established service in south Florida in 2002, providing service in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Demand for its services has pushed MetroPCS to progressively offer services to all of south Florida.
