El Diario La Prensa Names Javier Castaño New
Managing Editor
New York, NY (April 11, 2005) - Rossana Rosado, Publisher and CEO of El Diario
La Prensa, announced today that veteran journalist, Javier Castaño, has been
named to the post of Managing Editor.
"We are delighted to have Javier Castaño back at El Diario, since we know
first-hand his level of professionalism and commitment to the Hispanic
community," said Rosado referring to Castaño's previous position as a reporter
for the paper.
Castaño will report to El Diario's Executive Editor, Pedro Rojas, who praised
the career of his new managing editor. "I believe Javier brings great knowledge
and tremendous energy that will continue to fortify El Diario's role as champion
for Hispanics," said Rojas.
Castaño has more than 20 years of media experience and, up until last week, was
news director at Hoy in New York, where he was part of the core team who
launched that paper. Prior to this role, he was a reporter at El Diario, New
York, a correspondent for El Tiempo, the Colombian newspaper, and as a reporter
for the New York Daily News, among others.
