Liberation Entertainment Launches European Office
LOS ANGELES (April 3, 2006) -- Liberation Entertainment, a leading
independent global distributor of visual content for the broadcast and home
entertainment markets, has launched a new European office based in London.
Spencer Pollard has been named Managing Director for the new wholly owned entity
to be called Liberation Entertainment Ltd. which will acquire new content out of
the UK and Europe, as well as sell and market the company's existing library of
more than 250 premium films, 2400 hours of episodic television and music concert
programs. A DVD distribution deal in the UK and various European territories
will soon be announced. Pollard is assembling a staff to handle finance, sales
and marketing, and will report to Jay Boberg, Chairman and CEO of Liberation
Entertainment.
"I am very pleased to have someone of Spencer's experience and reputation at
the helm of our European operation," said Boberg. "I have a long history with
IRS Records and MCA Records of enjoying the benefits of an operating company in
the UK. Spencer's and my relationships will help us be very aggressive in both
acquisitions and DVD marketing and sales in England and across the continent."
Pollard joins Liberation from Sanctuary Records Group where he served as VP
Commercial Development, Sanctuary Visual Entertainment, heading up the company's
audiovisual business. Whilst there, he oversaw the expansion of Sanctuary's
catalogue to include children's animation, comedy, film and television series
product and making it one of the largest and most successful independent music
DVD distributors in Europe. Key acquisitions released during his tenure include
the award winning Collector's Edition of Dune, Rush In Rio, Morrissey - Who Put
the M in Manchester, Rush -R30, Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Beyond the Beginning,
Blind Faith - Hyde Park 1969, The Who - The Kids are Alright, T.Rex/Marc Bolan -
Born to Boogie, and the #1 comedy DVD, Alan Partridge Presents the Cream of
British Comedy.

strategic focus enabling us to maximize audiovisual business opportunities."
Pollard went on to add, "By creating a dynamic, worldwide sales and marketing
operation I am sure that there are exciting times ahead and I am expecting a
very busy and successful future for everyone involved."
Liberation assets include the PBS Sound Stage concert series, classic
television series such as Daniel Boone starring Fess Parker, Peter Gunn, The
Invisible Man and The Adventures of Robin Hood, as well as the series of Charles
Dickens animated classics; and films such as The Return of Superfly starring
Samuel L. Jackson, Steele's Law, starring Fred Williamson, Beverly Hills Brats,
starring Peter Billingsly and Martin Sheen.
Liberation also has the broadcast and internet rights from the Italian
production company Rai Trade, to Imperium: The Rise and Fall of an Empire. Peter
O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Charlotte Rampling and Paul Marcus star in this $45
million production of three 4-hour star-studded mini-series that celebrate the
glory of the Roman Empire in the wake of the murder of Julius Caesar.
The three dramatic tales are titled Augustus: The First Emperor, Nero: The
Obscure Face of Power, and St. Peter: Persecution of Christians.
